La Laife
After years of exploring and trying out different things, the author finally realized that writing has always been the one thing that makes her mind calm and clear. La Laife is her life experience in a text form. But it might also be a part of yours. During our life journeys, we might experience something similar, even though the paths we walked can be very different. La Laife is composed of three columns:
Life: C’est la vie! It’s life. Simple and complicated as it is.
Culture: Although La Laife is currently based in Belgium, the author has traveled around Japan, Taiwan, and Europe. There are always something interesting to see and think about between different cultures. Language is also an important part of the author’s life. She writes down her experience and thoughts about cultures, languages, and also the topics related to books, art, films, etc. Besides English, you will also find articles in Chinese, Japanese, and maybe some French in the future.
Creation: The author is also an active creator. She created this website. She cooks, she knits and crochets, she makes music sometimes. And she just started calligraphy and hand lettering this year in 2022. The Creation Column is her portfolio: collecting everything she makes.
About The Author
Lai has her educational background in human development, media design, and computer science. She is interested in many things, especially about human and what human have created. She also spent her last decade digging into the cultures of Taiwan, Japan, a little bit of Germany, France and of course, Belgium. She is not a know-it-all person but with her curiosity and sensitivity, she illustrates her own version of the world.
